How can one create a successful marketing plan?

If you want to truly be happy with your MLM success, it’s important to create a marketing plan. Without one, you’ll have no success and even worse, you won’t understand why! A “blueprint” for running your company is certainly in order. It’s important to understand that MLM businesses are extremely competitive, so you have to be prepared.
Your time and money is valuable, so it’s essential to have a plan of action. Make a 1-month plan, a 6-month plan, a 1-year plan, and a 2-year plan to start. Have goals but don’t set expectations too high! It’s important to realize that any company has trouble turning profits immediately, and that you must have sufficient funds to last at least 6 months. Determine when you would need to start earning, and how much, to survive. Don’t be a victim of poor planning or the “I didn’t know!” syndrome. You MUST know the facts; no one is going to have sympathy if you fail, so it’s smarter to prepare.

1. Homework: Before we start on the tips, you need to make sure you’re starting something that you trust in and truly want to be doing down the road. Research is key to any business, especially a work-from-home one. It’s assumed that you want to do this, or else you wouldn’t be reading this article! So, you need to make sure you’ve done your homework. Do you know for a fact that your mentor company is trustworthy? Have you researched all the facts and know that you’re avoiding fake companies, swindling people, and false plans? Make sure you’ve checked with the Better Business Bureau and state Attorney General about any program you’re about to be a part of. Be cautious, avoid things that sound too good to be true, and just be very aware in general that you’re not part of a “miracle” team that might actually try to get you. Make sure you know all the facts before signing any contracts.

2. Growth: Once you’ve chosen your company, you need to figure out how to start your business and help it blossom. One of the biggest problems is that people have trouble growing their MLM businesses. Running out of leads and out of money are the biggest problems. Did you know you can create your own leads and offer products yourself? Were you aware that you could generate your own traffic? It just takes a little research and occasionally, small purchases. Those leads will get you everywhere though, and without them, you can’t grow!

3. Downlines: You may have heard of the word. If you haven’t, read thoroughly. If you have, keep reading, because this could be the most important information of all.
A downline is essentially independent distributors who are below you, but who help build your overall customer base. This is important because instead of just earning your income from your own sales, you earn from the people you sign on plus the referrals and sales that they make! By building up your “team,” so to speak, you’re building up your pockets. Getting proceeds by yourself as well as from the agents you recruited will pay off in no time.

4. Products: If you were in college again and had a random person choose what you were to study, well, long story short it’d be hard to really devote yourself to something random and not something you’re passionate about. The same goes for selling! If you’re truly enthusiastic about what you’re selling, be they products or services, it’s important to remember that you’re also selling yourself. If you’re not passionate about what you’re doing, and passionate about your products, well, your customers are going to notice right away. So when you’re deciding on a plan of action, make sure you can put yourself 100% behind your products and really love what you do. It’ll show.

5. Selling: Do you enjoy selling? Were you good at fundraising when you were a kid or did you always freeze up when talking to strangers? Are you a good people person? Recruiting is a subdivision of selling and is a huge factor in being successful at MLM. What’s important to realize here is that the products, no matter how amazing they are, don’t always speak for themselves. The deal is that if you don’t enjoy and excel at selling and recruiting, well, you’re simply not going to last long. That is the up-front truth about MLM. Probably 90% of people don’t like selling, and it shows in a big way when businesses fail. If you don’t like marketing, selling, and recruiting but want to earn big money, it’s advised that you don’t go into MLM. It’s simply not for you. If you do in fact enjoy selling and you’re good at it, well then give it your best shot!

Make sure that you have schedules and data. The schedules will help you stick to your weekly, monthly, and yearly plans, and data will help you know how you’re selling. This is important information that has to be taken seriously, and what’s vital is that if your marketing plan isn’t working, you need to be able to correct it, right the wrongs, and try new methods.

Write down small steps to success, or your own little “SOS”! You need to learn as much as you can about MLM, invest, finding products you truly enjoy selling, learn about selling, learn about posting, finding a system that works for you, finding out how best to reach out to people, and more. If you’re passionate and excited about what you do, MLM can be extremely profitable for you.

Make sure that wherever you decide to invest is trustworthy! Contact your local State Attorney General and Better Business Bureau to make absolutely sure that you’re entering into a good company, and make sure you have a plan of action that’s destined for success!
