With natural and organic products gaining more and more popularity across the globe, it's no wonder so many MLM companies showcase these heath and wellness items at the front of their product lineup. Today, millions of people are looking for products with natural, non-processed ingredients that promote longevity, youthfulness and weight loss, among many other great benefits.
But for new MLMers and inexperienced distributors, the question remains: what's the best way to market and sell these natural products?
To people who are introduced to these types of natural products for the first time – supplements, drink mixes, etc. – it's often difficult for them to see the inherent value. Therefore, distributors need to market these products carefully, so as not to confuse or scare their prospects away. Here are some tips you can use.
Hit the benefits first.
Whether you're prospecting in-person or simply writing your website, start by explaining all the great benefits – not the ingredients. People want to know immediately what a product will do for them. So, tell it straight. Does it help them lose weight? Have healthier skin? Build muscle? Look younger?
Follow with the ingredients/features.
While the benefits themselves might be enough to make some people want to buy, others will be looking for the real meat behind your claims. This is where it pays off to know your natural products inside and out. Let the prospect know exactly what natural ingredients make the benefits possible. Show that you know your stuff and it will add a ton of credibility to your presentation.
Give away free samples.
Giving away free stuff might not seem very cost-efficient, but it has proven to be one of the most effective ways to market health and wellness products. Many MLM distributors earn the majority of their direct commissions simply by giving away their product. The key here is to only give a free sample to serious, interested customers. Everyone wants free stuff; so barely anyone would turn down the chance to try something at no cost. So before giving away your entire inventory to just anybody, ask the prospect some questions, such as “What are you looking for in a natural product? What are the things that appeal to you the most about this product?” If a prospect shows they don't really care about the product, but just want something for free, then a free sample might be wasted on them.
Back up your claims with statistical evidence.
Create a “wow factor” by showing your prospects real proof that the product works. For example, if you're offering a skin care product, show before-and-after photos. Check with your MLM company to see if they've conducted any experiments with results that you can highlight. If 9 out of 10 people who try this product say it works, this is the kind of statistic that you need to promote heavily in your marketing.
Don't push too hard.
Have you ever walked into a department store and been bombarded by sales reps who want to spray you with perfumes and doll you up with the hottest new makeup styles? Annoying, right? So, don't do it to other people with your own products.
Quickly let people know exactly what the product does, how it does it, and offer a sample, if they're interested. You don't need to claim that it's a life-changing product and try to force it on someone in order for them to buy. Try a softer approach and the benefits of your natural, healthy products will sell themselves.
