10 keys to a successful MLM presentation
Every MLMer has their own methods for finding new customers and recruiting team members. But no matter what the methods used, it all boils down to successfully networking with other people. Some of the most successful forms of prospecting for MLM businesses are presentations. These are generally done in-person or over the phone, with the intention of informing others about the business opportunity and getting them excited about joining.
But while presentations are often crucial to the success of an MLM business-owner, many fail to use this method effectively. In fact, in many cases, bad presentations cause more harm to businesses than not having one at all.
Before hosting your next presentation, follow these 10 tips to make sure you leave prospects feeling good about your business – and not in a hurry to get out the door.
1. Be confident. If you don’t have full confidence in your business or the material you’re presenting, prospects will notice it right away. Believe in yourself and show them the expert you really are!
2. Know your stuff. Be prepared before you present. Know your company, products and compensation plan, inside and out.
3. Look professional. Dress conservatively and people will take you more seriously. After all, you’re a successful business-owner. Act like one!
4. Invite multiple prospects. Whether you’re presenting over the phone or in-person, invite as many people as possible. It builds credibility and increases the probability of sign-ups.
5. Open the floor to questions. Be sure to leave room at the end of your presentation for questions – you might get a lot! This is a great time to show your stuff, so be prepared for anything!
6. Be excited! Keep the energy high so your prospects don’t fall asleep. If you’re offering a truly exciting opportunity, you should be excited about it when sharing it with others!
7. Stay calm. If at any point you feel nervous, just relax and take a deep breath. Remember, this shouldn’t be a high-pressure situation for anyone involved. It’s just a chance to talk to people and help people out. Remember, these people must already be somewhat interested in what you’re offering, or else they wouldn’t have showed up in the first place.
8. Bring your sponsor or a team member. At every presentation, try to bring someone who has already had a lot of success with their MLM business. This builds credibility, helps you defer questions you can’t answer, and overall makes the presentation more professional.
9. Bring notes – but don’t rely on them. It’s okay to use notes or a general outline of the points you’re going to discuss, but they shouldn’t be used as a crutch. The last thing your prospects want is someone reading word-for-word off a stack of index cards.
10. Provide more info to learn more. It’s critical that you remember to give people a brochure, website link or a business card so they have a way of learning more and getting in touch with you. No prospects should leave or get off the phone without knowing what to do next.
